Could you join the Trustee Board?

The Scheme is managed by a Board of Trustee Directors who are collectively responsible for ensuring it is run in the best interests of the members. It’s a legal requirement that at least a third of the Trustee Directors are nominated by you, the members.
We’re currently seeking nominations for a new Member Nominated Trustee Director (MNTD) to fill a current vacancy. If you’re interested in pensions and keen to help ensure that the Scheme is well run, it could be just the challenge you’re looking for.
You’ll be required to attend a small number of meetings each year, and any costs incurred will be reimbursed. It’s a great opportunity to serve your fellow members and use your wisdom and experience for a good cause!
You don’t need to have a background in finance or know anything about trust law. Training sessions will be provided as part of the role, and you’ll be well supported by our trusted team of advisers. You just need to be a member of the pension scheme – it doesn’t matter whether you’ve already retired or you’re still waiting to take your pension.
We recently wrote to all members about the election, so you should have received a letter with more details. We’ve also launched an online hub to provide you with all the information you’ll need about the MNTD role, what it will involve, information on the current Trustee Directors and a form you’ll need to complete to nominate yourself. Nominations are open from 20 March to 21 April 2023. There will then be a short selection process, and we hope to be able to announce the successful candidate in May.
